You’ve created the perfect marketing piece – the message is clear, the design is eyecatching… now what?

It may look great on your computer screen, but we take steps to make sure it prints properly too. Before your piece is printed, Allegra will preflight your file and alert you to any potential issues.

Here are some of the things our prepress department checks for:

Size:
Is the job designed at the correct size?

Bleeds: If your piece appears to print right to the edge of the paper, it has bleeds, which must be prepared in a specific manner. Ask us for our handout on how to create bleeds for printing.

Colour:
CMYK values are used for full-colour printing, while Pantone colours are used for one, two or three spot colour jobs. If the wrong colour space is used, your colours won’t print properly.

Fonts:
Were the fonts embedded, converted to outlines, or supplied separately with the job? Font failure can result in an illegible piece.

Resolution:
Are your pictures, logos and images sharp and clear or blurry and low resolution?
Were all images used embedded in the piece or supplied separately with the job?

Margins:
Did you allow enough space for cutting, folding, numbering or other bindery work required to finish the piece?

Allegra’s prepress department staff have many combined years of experience to identify any issues that could prevent your job from printing properly. Trust your job to Allegra.
