Founded in 1991, Habitat for Humanity Hamilton is an independent, not-for-profit housing program that works to break the cycle of poverty by building affordable housing and promoting home ownership. They mobilize local volunteers, community members, and corporate partners, seeking to create a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.

Habitat Hamilton implemented an on-going development model called the Home Build Program. Within this program, they build homes and provide interest-free mortgages to hard-working and deserving families who otherwise could not afford home ownership. Supported by hundreds of volunteers, Habitat Hamilton has accommodated 22 partner families locally since their incorporation and is one of Habitat Canada’s fastest growing affiliates, with six homes currently under construction!

Habitat Hamilton was looking for a way to expand their organization’s awareness and brand recognition for the existing Home Build Program and the Hamilton ReStore. They attend trade shows, home shows, festivals and third-party fundraisers and have never had appropriate signage. Through FootPRINT Fund we helped Habitat Hamilton design and produce two banner stands to be used for these events and trade shows. We asked Melissa the Manager of Resource Development how the FootPRINT Fund award helped their organization, “The award helped a great deal! We were awarded two pop-up banners, something we desperately needed. We use them all the time, at our gala, festivals, sidewalk sales, etc!”
